Could you please clarify the external data / pretrained model policy of this competition? Is it allowed to use external data and/or finetune models trained on other datasets? If so, will the rankings be separate (like imagenet challenge) or combined?

You can use additional data you want to train your methods or any pre-trained model. The methodology to compute the score to the ranking will be the same for all cases.
