> Views vs clicks

What is the difference between views and clicks?
It seems to me that to view a page user first needs to clink on the link to that page. Or am I wrong?

Also, are views used when calculating the relevance for NDCG?

There are other ways of navigating that do not produce clicks. Ex: using search engine, bookmarks, clicking on ad banners etc. But the main difference is that view data is sampled (i.e. some views can be missing). We are going to clarify this within this week.

Hmmm I'm confused. How is it possible to have a view from the search engine with no click?

"Click" data contains "clicks on site recommendations & site search". No external clicks are registered.

If I google some specific item, and click on link in results, there will be no event in dataset.

Ok now it is clear. Thank you!
