Hi, I am planning to enter the competition as part of a class project and I have limited time, so I don't expect my methods/results to be high enough quality to publish. Am I required to submit the writeup? I'd rather just participate in the contest anonymously if possible. Thanks!

If you don't submit, then you might not be considered for the prize. Other than that you can submit your evaluation. Hope this answers you question.
