My team and I would like to improve the dataset masks and use it in publications, but we couldn't find yet if the images are free to use or not.
Can we use it (and modified versions such as modified masks) freely or there are constrained terms of use?
Thanks in advance for the response,
Artur
Could you please explain a little bit what kind of modifications are you referring to and why.
Thank you!
Posted by: binalab @ April 29, 2021, 3:14 p.m.The changes we intend to do are crops in the images (to match the masks) and improve some labels in the masks (e.g. fix grass labels marked as water).
We would like to publish the changed data as opensource following the current license criteria, that is, citing the original dataset and explaining the changes performed.
Posted by: arturao @ April 29, 2021, 4:28 p.m.No cropping is needed to match the masks. The issue will be taken care of soon. We have the masks with actual size and will be released later after the competition. For fixing the semantic labels or any other issues, please send the comments on images with issues to us, so that we can fix them after consulting with experts.
We are still working on license, since several agencies are involved with the dataset. The license will be released soon.
Thank you!
