Exoplanet Imaging Data Challenge

Welcome to The Exoplanet Imaging Data Challenge, a competition for high-contrast imaging data processing and the comparison of exoplanet direct detection algorithms.

Metrics

The metrics used in this competition are defined on the main website, please follow this link.

The datasets used in this data challenge were kindly provided by scientists from several high-contrast imaging instruments, and are the result of many years of work of different teams around the globe. We have tried our best to anynimize the targets for the sake of fairness in this competition. Once the challenge is finished, the contributed datasets (without synthetic planets) will enter the exoplanet imaging benchmark library. This benchmark library will be uploaded to a public repository (Zenodo) for the use of the interested research community.

ADI sub-challenge

Start: May 16, 2019, 1 a.m.

Description: Angular Differential Imaging (ADI) sub-challenge, focusing on 3D cubes with rotational diversity

ADI+mSDI sub-challenge

Start: May 16, 2019, 1 a.m.

Description: Angular + multi-channel Spectral Differential Imaging (ADI+mSDI) sub-challenge, focusing on 4D cubes with rotational and spectral diversities

Competition Ends

Sept. 16, 2019, 11 p.m.
